Story
Dragon Claw is one of the most unusual expressions of wild tea traditions found in the mountains of Northern Vietnam. Harvested from ancient tea trees that have grown undisturbed for centuries, this rare white tea is made from winter buds that would otherwise develop into new branches.
Known as a relative of Ya Bao, Dragon Claw occupies a fascinating space between tea and botanical curiosity. Its elongated buds, shimmering green with purple tips, resemble the curved tail of a dragon—an image that gave this tea its name.
Growing high in remote mountain forests, these ancient trees develop a character that cannot be replicated through cultivation. The tea is processed with minimal intervention, allowing the wild landscape, altitude, and the slow rhythm of nature to shape its extraordinary profile.
In the Cup
The infusion is almost translucent, with a delicate golden-green hue. Aromas of wild flowers, tropical fruit and forest wood emerge gradually as the tightly packed buds unfold.
The taste is both ethereal and complex: floral and fruity at first, followed by woody spice, subtle pepper notes and a lingering sweetness reminiscent of guava candy.
