These miniature bricks use the same fundamental production logic as larger-format ripe puer.
Sun-dried Yunnan tea material undergoes controlled wet-pile fermentation before being compressed into individual 4–5 g portions. The small format removes the need to break material from a conventional cake or brick and corresponds conveniently to approximately one brewing portion.
A clean ripe puer should not smell unpleasantly moldy. Proper management of wet-pile fermentation is essential for producing a clean profile dominated by mature wood, earth, sweetness and dried fruit.
Ageing since 2010 has further softened the fermentation character.
