FUMIO MIYASHITA - WHITE MORNING

On October 22, our resident selector Kristian Kaltenbach returns to Tea & Vinyl for another evening of focused listening, this time dedicated to Fumio Miyashita’s White Morning.

Released in 1989, White Morning sits at the intersection of Japanese ambient, healing music, new age and environmental music. Built around two long-form compositions, the album unfolds through soft synthesizer layers, delicate acoustic textures and gradual shifts in sound.

There is little emphasis on conventional rhythm or song structure. Instead, the music creates a spacious, meditative environment — designed for stillness, contemplation and inward attention.

For the central part of the evening, we’ll experience the record from beginning to end in silence, allowing its nearly 50-minute sound world to unfold without interruption.

Kristian will introduce the album and share some context around the music before we begin. The listening session will be accompanied by selected Chinese tea, followed by time to talk, exchange impressions and continue listening together.
