On October 16, Tea & Vinyl welcomes Japanese contemporary artist Masaaki Hasegawa (Mash) and Spanish composer BONAMASA for Two Hearts — a multidisciplinary live performance bringing together music, painting, scent, nature and tea.

Created between Japanese and Western perspectives, Two Hearts explores what happens when two cultures meet without either losing its essence.

BONAMASA performs live compositions and improvisations incorporating field recordings captured in Osaka and Tokyo, while Mash responds through live painting developed through his experience of synesthesia — translating sound, atmosphere and sensation into a visual language.

A further layer is introduced through a sensor connected to living flowers, transforming their electrical signals into sound and allowing the plants themselves to become part of the composition.

Sound becomes image. Nature becomes sound. Two artistic languages become one shared experience.

The performance unfolds as a sonic, visual and olfactory environment exploring time, nature, place, cultural connection and presence.

Throughout the evening, Tea & Vinyl will accompany the experience with selected Chinese tea, creating space to slow down, observe and listen.
