About the event
A little Brazilian warmth for a cold November evening in Berlin. 🇧🇷🍵
On November 25, we're welcoming back our dear friend and Tea & Vinyl resident DJ End80s — a Berlin-based music collector and selector who has been part of our community since the very beginning.
Together, we're travelling to Brazil through music, exploring the beautiful meeting point of samba, jazz fusion, and experimental sounds.
At the heart of the evening is 500 Miles High by Flora Purim, recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1974.
Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Flora became one of the defining voices connecting Brazilian musical traditions with American jazz fusion.
Accompanied by an extraordinary group of musicians, including Airto Moreira, Ron Carter, Wagner Tiso, and Milton Nascimento, the album captures a magical combination of Brazilian rhythms, free-flowing improvisation, and expressive vocals.
Warm, soulful, unpredictable, and full of life.
