THE WAY OF SCENT × Tea & Vinyl Exploring the World of Incense

Scent can carry us into a place, a memory, a feeling — sometimes all at once.

Long before scent became perfume, it was information: a way of sensing, understanding and connecting with the world around us.

For this special afternoon at Tea & Vinyl, THE WAY OF SCENT joins us for an immersive exploration of incense — its cultural origins, natural materials and the craft of creating your own blend.

Over the course of the workshop, we’ll explore:

• Incense traditions and cultural history • The relationship between smell, mood and memory • Herbs, woods, resins and spices • How natural materials are sourced and processed • The structure of an incense blend • How different materials and proportions influence scent and burning

The experience culminates in creating your own personal incense blend to take home, together with the knowledge to continue experimenting and making incense yourself.

Throughout the afternoon, Japanese ambient music on vinyl and selected Chinese tea will accompany the workshop — bringing scent, sound and taste into one shared experience.

A slow afternoon dedicated to listening through more than one sense.
