Live Modular Performance + Introduction to Modular Synthesis

Electronic music artist, multi-instrumentalist and devoted gongfu cha enthusiast Earthquake Tiger steps behind the modular rig for an intimate journey into the deeper edges of UK bass music.

Drawing on nearly three decades of musical exploration across the Baltics, France, Germany and the UK, Earthquake Tiger brings the energy of 140 BPM dubstep, dub, garage, grime and dancehall into the intimate setting of Tea & Vinyl.

Expect a deep, tactile bass presence, raw modular textures and warm, immersive low-end grooves — performed live through a modular synthesizer system.

Following the performance, Earthquake Tiger will open up his modular rig for a beginner-friendly introduction to modular synthesis. Guests will be invited to take a closer look at the system, discover the basics of patching, ask questions and even twist a few knobs to experiment with the sounds firsthand.

Throughout the evening, we’ll serve selected Chinese tea, bringing together electronic sound, experimentation and tea culture in one space.
